About Me

My name is Nicole, and I'm the Young Adult Librarian at the Lebanon Public Library in Lebanon, Indiana (my hometown!). I started this blog in 2016 to connect and share with other librarians, teens, parents, and authors. If the colorful rows of YA lit at the library or book store make you feel like a kid in a candy store no matter your age, this is the place for you!

I've loved books since I can remember. The school book fair, the first day of summer reading, and library day were huge highlights of my childhood. Fast forward to me coming home after my first year of college and on the hunt for a summer job. I went into the library to drop off an application thinking "This will be great! How easy. I mean, all librarians do all day is read, right?" As fate would have it, I was hired for that summer job. I learned two things: 1) Librarians don't sit and read all day and 2) That this was the perfect place for me.

I love reading, the 1940s & 1950s  (victory rolled hair, pencil skirts, big band music...why not me?!), music (especially early 2000s pop-punk), old Americana tattoos, my cat (named Zero from The Nightmare Before Christmas) and anything to do with Halloween. When I'm not at the library, I'm chasing after my constantly on the move, sassy, and God-has-a-sense-of humor-because-she's-just-like-me two going on twelve year old, Margot.

Email me at MissNicoletheLibrarian@gmail.com if you'd like to contact me. I promise to get back to you as soon as I can!

I am currently serving on the Children's & Young Person's Division (CYPD) Board and am a member of the Indiana Library Federation (ILF). I also write book reviews for Voices of Youth Advocates Magazine.
